Key Verse:
And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask Me for anything in My name, and I will do it.
John 14:13-14
We often find comfort in confiding in our loved ones, sharing the worries and the burdens of our hearts. There’s a sense of relief in simply expressing what we carry within. However, when it comes to bringing things before God, we sometimes hesitate or put it off. Maybe not always, but often. We are very good at trying to fix things ourselves, read books on it, or seek advice from others before finally turning our hearts toward God. Yet God desires to communicate with us even more than we do.
There are times when we pray once or twice about something, then feel discouraged, interpret God’s answer as ‘no‘, or let worries make us forget all the wonderful things He’s promised us through His Word. Meanwhile, negative thoughts creep in, making us question whether it’s worth it. Personally, if I’ve already shared my concern with him and still find myself waiting for an answer, I either choose to silently endure or step in to help bring about the answer, rather than bringing it up with Him again.
But the Bible calls us to “pray continually,” as we read in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NIV).
God is not One who needs to be persistently implored before granting the answers we long for. Since Christ Jesus has already finished His work on the cross, I believe our prayers are at work within us, preparing our hearts to receive what He has already provided, even as God works through people and circumstances, bringing everything into alignment for the greater good.
Sometimes what we perceive as a delay is actually an incubation period, in which the answer to our prayer is growing and being prepared to come forth in its full maturity.
So do not give up on your prayers. For the One you are praying to can do the impossible at all times. That answer you’ve been waiting for is on its way—just keep the conversation going with Him. He never disappoints those who hope in Him!
